Terry R. Trammell, M.D.

Dr. Trammell is known among the professional motorsports community in North America and Europe. He has been active in providing trackside medical care since 1973. From 1981 - 1996, he served as orthopaedic consultant to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway; 1996 - 2002 orthopaedic consultant to CART; 1987 - 1996, Director of Medical Services to CART; 2002 - present, spinal surgical consultant to the IRL. He is a founding member of the International Council of Motorsports Science and a founding fellow of the FIA Institute for Motorsport Safety. He is active in safety research with expertise in the area of spinal biomechanics, injury, and occupant kinematics. He is a partner in Orthopaedics Indianapolis, Inc., a multi-specialty musculoskeletal care group.

Dr. Trammell is married to Rhonda, a professional racing driver turned singer songwriter on the Nashville scene. They have four grown children.

Dianne Reed, Advanced Practice Nurse/Orthopaedic Nurse Clinician 

Dianne has been with Dr Trammell since the early stages of his practice:  first as a scoliosis patient and then as his nurse and right hand.  

Dianne obtained her nursing degree from the Indiana University School of Nursing in 1973 and received her Master of Science in Nursing in 1977.  Since then, she as been an essential part of Dr Trammell's practice since joining him in 1982. 

Over the last 20 years, Dianne has developed a unique understanding of the needs of the orthopaedic patient.  She is exceptionally well qualified and capable of seeing that the patient's needs are met by providing compassionate and empathetic care, born of her experiences as the patient. Along with Dr Trammell, Dianne's greatest area of interest and expertise is the spinal patient, especially those with Scoliosis and other spinal deformities. 

As the mother of three, Dianne is incredibly patient, understanding and treats each patient with the utmost care and concern, as if they were her own children. This has been a huge benefit to our perpetual children, the professional racing driver. She has mothered the likes of AJ Foyt, Rick Mears, the family Unser, as well as most of the rest of the motorsport community. She is the guiding force behind our motorsports medicine initiative.

With Dianne, the patient always comes first. She sees to it that this is Dr. Trammell's first priority as well.

Rhonda Trammell, Administrative Assistant

Rhonda Trammell deals with non-patient related services, medical-legal consulting as well as motorsports consulting correspondence.

Rhonda is a wife, a mother of two, a race car driver (retired), singer/songwriter, Sound Delusion Music, and business manager of Trammell Motorsports and Consulting.
